Guest Post : Family Escapes

So it’s that time of year again when you’re looking for a family escape. Perhaps you’re after a holiday home in France where you can enjoy park facilities and kids’ activities by the bucketload. Or maybe you’d rather a low-cost jaunt to the Spanish coast where you can watch your little ones play in the shallow shores. Or perhaps you prefer rolling countryside over seascapes, and the chance to go charging up hill and down dale before settling down to a picnic.

Whatever you’re looking for, there’s always a huge choice on offer thanks to the thriving tourism market - and that means plenty of cheap family holidays to wonderful destinations right across the globe.

Let’s look at Spain for instance. Here you’ve got an abundance of fantastic family-friendly resorts complete with first-rate hotel clubs with qualified staff and day-long schedules of activities to keep the little ones occupied. While the youngsters are busy learning new sports, draining their energy in the soft play centres or making arts and crafts safely away from the midday sun, the parents can be enjoying a little R&R by the pool or popping out for a few hours to explore the local area.

If you fancy something a little more exotic, why not try Sharm el Sheikh? This beautiful location is slap bang on the Red Sea and is home to more watersports than you could care to imagine. There are numerous hair-raising watersports for the big kids or teenagers amongst you, such as jet-skiing, waterskiing, surfing and of course, scuba diving. The snorkelling here is also fantastic (and considerably cheaper than diving too). Of course, a day trip to see Egypt’s magnificent monuments is an absolute must, and you’ll find plenty of excursions both locally and through your tour operator.

Whatever you fancy and wherever you go, there’s an abundance of wonderful family escapes just waiting to be discovered.
